Hi, I’m Tanya!
A lover of bugs and plants, rivers and rocks, sunshine and rain, the simple yet profound things.. I find that the creation of new life is also one of those profound things. In my becoming of a mother, I immersed myself in learning about the body and mind through birth to better prepare for the unknown. And in doing so, I unknowingly forged a path to the reclamation of the magic and wisdom that felt lost and forgotten in my being. Self discovery brought me to the realization of the unfortunate distance between trust and our inner knowing, how much we’ve been conditioned to ignore or forget physiology, and how empowering it feels to relearn and reconnect with what is innate and ancient within us.
My first birth, at home, was transformative. It opened my eyes to the power of personalized care and pushed me to dive fully into birthwork and serve other women and families seeking a similar path. My second birth was a powerful freebirth at home, surrounded by my closest friends and family. It took me even deeper into surrender, into trust, into the raw connection between body, spirit, and baby.
Now, as a mother of two, I’m here to offer grounded, compassionate support for your unique path, trusting your rhythms, honoring your choices, and reminding you that you were made for this.
Each and every one of us has a different perception of safety and spirit. We thrive in different circumstances. We are not a one-fits-all, nor should we be! I find that doing what aligns with us best, while regarding safety and spirit, brings the best connection. What that looks like, and how it unfolds, is different for every family and individual. When considering your support team, I encourage to follow what aligns rather than what’s convenient.
When working together, what matters most to me is a shared desire for connection and trust.
- connection to the process, to one’s own body, to the unfolding experience itself.
- trust in your inner knowing, in your authority to honor yourself, in your capacity to move with intention.
The little things that have the biggest impacts are often overlooked, much like bugs (hence, Birth Bug). Our experiences can sometimes bring uncertainty, and our world has built systems that have created deep disconnection during one of life’s most transformative events!
I’m here to remind you that your body is wise, your choices matter, and creating life is meaningful.

"My personal experience with Tanya as my doula could not have been any more perfect. She did such a fantastic job being my voice at the hospital, making sure to ask questions that I wouldn't have even thought to ask, explaining things to me when I seemed confused or out of it. She made the atmosphere so calm even when I was struggling really bad at times and she did everything in her power to ease my mind. I could not have asked for a more perfect person to be my doula! If my husband and I ever do decide to have another baby she is 100% my first choice to be with me every step of the way!”

"My experience with Tanya was absolutely lovely. Tanya is kind-spirited and gentle, making her approachable and easy to talk to. She came to all the prenatal appointments prepared and ready to listen and learn about my family and needs for my unmedicated delivery. Her attentiveness to my birth plan and needs paid off during my labor and I'm so grateful to her for that. She endured 24 hours of labor with me and never left my side for more than a food/bathroom break; she worked with the midwives to help my labor progress by offering different positions, she ensured my wishes and birth plan were respected, and she guided my husband in helping me with pain relief. She also was consistent with applying counter pressure throughout nearly the entire labor and I couldn't have made it through without that. I ended up with a successful VBAC delivery after a total of 34 hours of labor.
Tanya offered to take photos during my labor and was able to capture some beautiful moments while being mindful of the flash and noises the camera made. I never knew when she was taking photos and the end results were so special to me.
If Tanya had not been there, me and my husband agree that it would have been a very different experience. We would have felt so lost without her guidance and support. We hope she's available for our next baby's delivery!"

“Tanya was such an amazing doula to have throughout my pregnancy and after as well. She is professional and helps educate on new ,sometimes complicated, topics. She makes the birth experience feel so much less stressful.”
