Postpartum is often treated as a time to shift all focus to baby. Although newborn care matters deeply, so does the mother. This is a season that deserves reverence, deserves slowing down, and deserves nourishment. When we center the mother, we are centering the baby. We are also building a village of support around her and allowing mothers to integrate at their own pace. There is no rush to getting back to “normal” or how it was, this mother-centered care is a reminder that mothers are raising the future, holding the world, so we must hold them too.

People in a cozy, dimly lit living room with fairy lights, plants, and photographs on the wall. One person is sitting on an exercise ball, looking towards a group of women on a blue inflatable pool, with some engaged in a card game. Another woman is sitting on a stool with her back to the camera, facing the group.
