The Closing of the Bones Ceremony is a sacred ritual designed to honor your body, heart, and spirit as you move through life’s transitions. Rooted in traditions from Mexico, Russia, and Morocco, this ceremony has been practiced for centuries to support women in reclaiming their strength, balance, and energetic alignment after pregnancy, birth, or other life-changing events.

In Mexico, the ritual has its roots in indigenous postpartum practices, where long, gentle wraps helped a new mother’s body recover and reintegrate. In Russia, “Zon” ceremonies honored the body and spirit of women after birth, supporting physical restoration and emotional release. In Morocco, similar practices used wraps, herbs, and intention-setting to restore balance and foster empowerment. These traditions have all evolved into the modern Closing of the Bones, blending physical support, emotional healing, and spiritual integration.

What We Do in the Ceremony

During your Closing of the Bones & Intentions Ceremony, you will:

  • Set intentions: Using journaling, guided reflection, and oracle cards, we explore what you wish to release, forgive, or invite into your life.

  • Rebozo wrapping: Using one to seven rebozos, I gently wrap and rock the seven key points of your body—head, shoulders, breasts, womb, hips, knees, and feet- creating a safe, nurturing cocoon. Each wrap is held for reflection, healing, and energetic integration.

  • Healing rituals: Through guided affirmations, breathing, and ceremony, we honor grief, release tension, invite forgiveness, and cultivate joy and wholeness.

  • Closing & integration: The rebozos are released slowly, symbolizing freedom, balance, and empowerment. We close with reflection, journaling, and a blessing to carry forward into your next chapter.

Why It’s Beneficial

This ceremony supports women in all life transitions, including:

  • Motherhood & postpartum: Helps the body heal physically and energetically while nurturing emotional and spiritual integration.

  • Menopause and midlife: Honors changes in the body, releases stored tension, and celebrates transformation.

  • Major life shifts: Any personal transitions—career changes, moving, relationships, or inner growth—can benefit from this ritual of reflection, release, and empowerment.

By sitting/laying in ceremony, you can reconnect with your body, honor your journey, and carry forward strength, clarity, and balance. It is a ritual of healing, celebration, and intentional transformation, tailored to you and your life’s unique path.
